"MARZANNA"
- DESIGNER - MAKER -
-2017-
"Marzanna" was a photography project I volunteered to work on during my second year of university.
Kaśka Trajdos, a commercial photogrpahy student, needed costumes made for her Final Major Project - a fashion shoot with the theme of the Slavic godess Marzanna.
Marzanna represents the end of winter and beginning of spring. The godess has been used in rituals meant to hasten the approach of spring, such as drowing or burning effigies.
We decided to focus on texture, to use just black and white. Flowers and lace became a nice reocurring detail in our dresses, which also made a connection to the coming of spring.
I worked with one other costume designer and maker, Natalia Wilinska, and we decided to split the workload and made half the batch of costumes needed for the shoot each.
I have only included photos of my work on this page
