"NAV Betaler"
COSTUME DESIGN - SOURCING - MASK MAKING
-2019-
"NAV Betaler" is a play created to challenge the prejudice and myths of unemployment. The play bases itself around the welfare system in Norway, and people who have been or are unemployed. As the story developes it focuses on each individual, their potential, and carries a message about finding your place in a world of possibilites and our longing to become who we truly are.
On stage you see 8 people, telling their story. It was interesting to create costumes during a process where we didn't have a script, as it was written alongside our workshops with the 'Storytellers'.
As nobody were playing 'roles', but rather themselves, I wanted to give very one of the cast a costume they felt comfortable in that could represent them, while still keeping the look and style that me, the director and scenographer had agreed on.
